Medical Laboratory Technician – Job DescriptionOverview We are seeking a detail‑oriented and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will perform routine laboratory tests, operate diagnostic equipment, and ensure accurate, timely results that support patient care and clinical decision‑making. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, serology, and urinalysis Prepare, process, and analyze patient samples following established protocols Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment Record, interpret, and validate test results with accuracy and attention to detail Follow quality control procedures and participate in proficiency testing Maintain proper documentation, logs, and reports in compliance with regulatory standards Ensure safe handling and disposal of biological specimens and chemical reagents Collaborate with medical staff to clarify test orders and communicate critical results Uphold laboratory safety, infection control, and confidentiality guidelines Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field Certification or registration as per local regulatory requirements (if applicable) Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, or on‑call as needed Preferred Skills Experience with automated analyzers and laboratory information systems (LIS) Knowledge of NABL/ISO standards (if relevant to your region) Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities Work Environment This role involves working in a clinical laboratory setting with exposure to biological samples, chemicals, and diagnostic equipment.
