National Credit Manager (Leading NBFC)

1. Role Purpose

To lead and manage the field-credit function across the West region, ensuring robust credit appraisal, effective underwriting, portfolio quality, adherence to credit policies and efficient management of the credit team. The role will support business growth and geographical expansion while maintaining strong credit discipline and portfolio performance.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the field-credit team across the West region
• Ensure effective credit appraisal, borrower assessment, underwriting and sanctioning processes in line with the Company//'s credit policies and guidelines
• Monitor portfolio quality, repayment trends, delinquency and early warning indicators to identify potential credit risks
• Conduct regular branch reviews and credit-quality assessments to ensure adherence to established processes and credit standards
• Work closely with Business, Risk, Operations and Collections teams to ensure responsible business growth and effective credit risk management
• Strengthen credit processes, controls and governance across existing and new branches
• Support business expansion into new geographies, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, through effective credit-team deployment and risk assessment
• Drive productivity, performance management and capability development of the field-credit team
• Ensure timely reporting, escalation of credit-related concerns and implementation of corrective actions

3. Candidate Profile

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in Credit Appraisal, Field Credit or Credit Risk (unsecured lending)
• Experience managing credit teams across multiple branches or geographies
• Strong understanding of borrower assessment, credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring and credit governance
• Experience in managing credit operations during business expansion or entry into new geographies
• Strong analytical, decision-making, team-management and stakeholder-management skills
