Job Summary The Accountant – India will be responsible for managing all accounting, reporting, and tax-related activities of the Indian entity. Reporting functionally to the APAC Finance Manager and working closely with a local accounting/tax consultant , this role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of all financial operations. This is a hands-on position covering the complete accounting cycle—from daily bookkeeping to statutory compliance, management reporting, and adherence to group policies. The role also acts as the custodian of accounting and internal control procedures , ensuring full compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Reporting Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounting entries are accurate and up to date. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes in line with group deadlines. Prepare trial balances, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reports. Support group reporting under IFRS/Local GAAP and ensure alignment with group accounting policies. Oversee Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable , including invoice verification, employee reimbursements, payment runs, and collections. Monitor cash flow and prepare periodic cash flow forecasts. Taxation & Compliance Coordinate with local accounting/tax consultants for compliance related to GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC , etc. Support annual statutory audits and internal audits. Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness at all times. Liaise with government authorities and consultants on taxation and regulatory matters when required. Support to APAC Finance Manager Provide financial data and analysis for regional consolidation and management reporting. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Implement and maintain internal controls and process improvements aligned with group policies. Qualifications & Skills Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance . 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a small or mid-sized multinational or subsidiary environment. Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP and Indian taxation (GST, TDS, Corporate Tax). Experience working with external auditors and tax consultants . Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, SAP, or similar , and strong working knowledge of MS Excel . Good English communication skills with the ability to work with remote teams across APAC and Europe . Key Attributes Hands-on, proactive, and detail-oriented.
