Job Title: Restaurant Captain --- Job Summary: The Restaurant Captain is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations, excellent customer service, and a memorable dining experience. The role requires leadership, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to hospitality standards. --- Key Responsibilities: Greet guests courteously and ensure they are seated comfortably. Supervise and support waitstaff to ensure smooth and timely service. Take food and beverage orders and ensure proper communication with kitchen and bar. Maintain deep knowledge of the menu and be able to recommend dishes and drinks. Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and promptly. Ensure tables are set according to restaurant standards. Coordinate table reservations and manage seating plans during peak hours. Train and mentor junior service staff. Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained. Assist in inventory checks for crockery, cutlery, and service equipment. Coordinate with the kitchen and bar team for timely order execution. Report daily sales and service issues to the restaurant manager. --- Skills & Requirements: Proven experience as a captain or senior waiter in a fine dine or casual dining restaurant. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong communication and team leadership abilities. Good knowledge of food and beverage service. Ability to multitask and work under pressure. Well-groomed and presentable. Basic computer and billing system knowledge is an advantage. Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays. --- Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree/diploma in Hotel Management is a plus. 1–4 years of relevant experience in the food industry
