Ajay Industries is looking for a Business Development Executive (Oil & Gas) to drive new business for our specialty lubricants and solutions in the oil and gas, refineries and petrochemical sector. The role is focused on lead generation, relationship building with plant / maintenance / procurement teams, and converting opportunities into consistent orders. Key responsibilities Identify and qualify new leads in refineries, petrochemical plants, terminals, pipelines and large process industries for our lubricant and maintenance solutions. Conduct market research to map key accounts, decision makers and upcoming projects or shutdowns in the oil and gas ecosystem. Generate meetings through cold calls, emails, visits, industry events and networking with consultants, OEMs and contractors. Understand customer applications, pain points and existing products; coordinate with the technical team to recommend suitable solutions. Prepare and submit proposals, quotations and tender inputs; follow up to closure and achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets. Build strong relationships with purchase, maintenance, engineering and operations teams to ensure repeat business and upselling. Maintain and update the sales pipeline, visit reports and customer data in CRM / Excel on a regular basis. Represent Ajay Industries at industry exhibitions, conferences and vendor registration meetings in the oil and gas sector. Required skills and experience Graduate in Engineering, Science, or Commerce; MBA in Marketing / Operations is an advantage but not mandatory. 1–4 years of experience in B2B sales / business development, preferably in oil & gas, industrial lubricants, chemicals, MRO, or allied engineering products. Strong prospecting, cold-calling and meeting-fixing skills with comfort in field work and plant visits. Good understanding of B2B sales cycle: lead generation, need analysis, proposal, negotiation and closing. Ability to understand technical applications (valves, bearings, rotating equipment, maintenance jobs) and explain value propositions to engineers. Effective communication and presentation skills in English and Hindi; ability to build trust with senior stakeholders. Proactive, target-oriented attitude with basic proficiency in MS Excel / PowerPoint / CRM tools. Personality fit Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working with targets and building a new vertical in oil and gas. High ownership and discipline in planning visits, documenting activities and following up consistently. Willingness to travel frequently to refineries, plants and industrial clusters as per business needs. Location and compensation Location: Kanpur, with travel to refinery and petrochemical hubs as required. Compensation: Fixed salary plus performance-based incentives linked to sales and collection targets.
