Middle School Coordinator

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee the overall academic and administrative functioning of Grades 6 to 8, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• Provide academic leadership and guidance to teachers to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
• Monitor lesson planning, syllabus completion, classroom teaching practices, notebooks, assessments and students' academic progress.
• Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers for improvement.
• Coordinate with subject HODs and teachers to ensure effective curriculum implementation and timely completion of the academic calendar.
• Plan, organise and monitor periodic assessments, examinations, result analysis and remedial classes.
• Identify academically weak students and ensure appropriate remedial measures and individual attention.
• Monitor student discipline, attendance, punctuality, behaviour and overall development.
• Maintain effective communication with parents regarding students' academic performance, discipline and other concerns.
• Conduct regular meetings with teachers to review academic progress, discuss challenges and establish improvement plans.
• Coordinate with the Principal, Academic Director and other departments for effective school functioning.
• Encourage teachers to adopt innovative teaching methodologies, activity-based learning and technology integration.
• Ensure proper maintenance of academic records, student portfolios, teacher documentation and other departmental reports.
• Organise and supervise inter-house competitions, academic activities, educational events and co-curricular programmes.
• Take appropriate initiatives to improve academic performance, teacher accountability and the overall learning environment.

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate/Postgraduate in any relevant discipline; B.Ed. is mandatory or preferred as per school requirements.
• Minimum 58 years of teaching experience, preferably in a reputed CBSE or International school.
• At least 23 years of experience in an academic coordination or supervisory role will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of middle school curriculum, teaching methodologies, assessment practices and academic planning.
• Proven ability to lead, guide and motivate teachers towards achieving academic objectives.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to analyse students' academic performance and implement effective improvement strategies.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving and team-management abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Google Workspace and school ERP systems.
