Group Overview Air Mobility Group (AIRMOB) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea’s aerial refueling (AAR) capabilities, ensuring the readiness and operational effectiveness of the tanker fleet. AIRMOB oversees fleet management, maintenance, and airworthiness, working to sustain and enhance refueling operations. It manages the integration of new processes and technologies, ensuring that tanker aircraft remain mission-ready through effective logistics, maintenance oversight, and regulatory compliance. By coordinating across various teams, AIRMOB ensures the fleet meets both current and future operational needs, supporting a range of specialized air mobility missions. Position Summary Pilots-in-command (PICs) are aircraft commanders aboard Metrea Strategic Mobility’s (MSM) KC-135 tanker aircraft. Role and Responsibilities Command a crew of 3 while responding to a variety of emergency and non-emergency scenarios. Conduct procedurally correct and expeditious pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections, checklists, and documentation. Maintain Situational Awareness (SA) and use Crew Resource Management (CRM) throughout all phases of flight. Adhere to company Flight Operation Procedures (FOPs), Ground Operation Procedures (GOPs), FAA regulations, and Safety Notices. Maintain all currencies, qualifications, and advanced systems knowledge related to the MSM KC-135 tanker fleet. All other duties as assigned Skills and Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree required Experience: 100 hours of flight time in KC-135 Aircraft 1000 total hours (with the military conversion rate of 1 military hour equal to 1.2 civilian hours) KC-135 MPRS Experience US Air Force Instrument/Qualification, KC-135 check-ride in the last year Prefer US Air Force Instrument/Qualification, KC-135 check-ride in the previous 12 months KC-135R IP/EP experience in the previous 51 months KC-135 Block 30 experience Skills: Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance. Must have good command of the English language; oral and written. Computer Skills: Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite Programs Certificates: Minimum of FAA Flying Class 2 Physical FCC Radiotelegraph Operators Permit Current ATP or Restricted ATP Current MEI and CFII certificate B-707 Type rating Current US Passport Valid Driver’s License Additional Skills: FAA Certificated Flight Instructor (Airplane Multi-Engine and Instrument Airplane), or equivalent military experience. Familiarity with U.S. Government contracting processes and procedures. Familiarity with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) regulations, specifically, DCMA Instruction 8210-1D. Familiarity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulations.
