Automotive Functional Safety Specialist to expand our capability in the implementation of functional safety especially in conducting safety analysis (FMEDA, Quantitative FTA), training others in doing the analysis, and evaluating the results to identify risks As a Functional Safety Specialist, you will: Support development of innovative system safety approaches through preparation of safety plans, monitoring of safety activities along the development lifecycle and generate safety cases Creation of Functional Safety Concept (FSC) and Technical Safety Concept (TSC) Lead and moderate the safety analysis activities: FMEDA (SPFM, LPFM) and Quantitative FTA (PMHF evaluation) Train the team in conducting FMEDAs and Quantitative FTAs Derive the safety requirements and define the safety measures and mechansims Ensure that Methodes products are developed in accordance with system safety relevant standards including ISO 26262 and other related emerging standards Conduct reviews, confirmation reviews, functional safety assessments Recommend improvements and escalate concerns as appropriate Support cross-functional teams on functional safety subjects Support and be part of an ever expanding safety culture at Methode Electronics Required skills & competencies: Bachelors degree and/or Masters in Engineering (Electrical/Hardware design stream) Total Experience : 8+ years Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Automotive Functional Safety (certification will be considered an asset) or Reliability Engineering Experience in using ANSYS Medini Analyze to conduct FMEDA and Quantitative FTA (experience in an alternative tool will be considered) Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 (certification will be considered an asset) Strong analytical aptitude Familiar with quality management systems. Good communication skills on technical subjects and teamwork ability Excellent oral and written communication skills in English Additional Qualifications (Advantageous): Familiarity with advanced chipsets and their safety modules is highly desirable Exposure/experience in using Systems Modelling language (SysML) Software quality and processes, such as ASPICE, CMMI etc

Developing and drafting electrical circuit schematics. Providing guidance for PCB component placement, routing, and conducting PCB reviews. Performing board bring-up, product testing, and preparing prototypes/test jigs for verification. Coordinating with internal and external teams for validation activities. Selecting suppliers for PCB fabrication and outsourcing activities. Collaborating with mechanical and firmware engineers for integration, testing, and product release activities. Key Skills: A minimum of 6-years designing high-frequency, efficient AC-DC, DC-AC, and DC-DC converters for power step-up/step-down applications. Strong background in transformer design and power supply designs, including Buck, Boost, Flyback, Half-Bridge, and Full-Bridge topologies. Power Source Equipment (PSE) and Powered Device (PD) design experience for Power over Ethernet data communication applications preferred. Proficient in analog-digital mixed signal design. Experience with IEEE 803.3 Ethernet physical layer technology, solutions and networking. General Skills: Hands-on experience in designing power supplies and electronic products, including an understanding of wind converters and their applications in traction, drives, etc. Proficient with power converter topologies (Buck, Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half-Bridge, Full-Bridge) and control techniques. Experience in control system design, including PWM control techniques. Transformer and inductor design expertise, with knowledge of core materials, insulation classes, laminations, and magnetic components (common & differential mode chokes). Skilled in insertion loss calculations for magnetic components. Electrical and electronic component selection, including relays, switches, resistors, inductors, transformers, capacitors, semiconductors (MOSFETs, BJTs, Diodes, LEDs, Zeners, Triacs, TVS, etc.). Knowledge of noise (common and differential mode) management. Expertise in control systems, loop compensation, testing, and measurement techniques. Experience working with microcontrollers, DSPs, and designing analog and digital circuit interfaces. Proven track record in PCB layout design and compliance with PCB requirements. Experience with EMC, EMI, and safety standards. Ability to develop and maintain engineering documents in compliance with CMMI and IATF standards. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to make informed decisions on technical matters. Familiarity with LTSpice, PSIM and similar CAD tools. Working knowledge of Altium Designer preferred. Strong written and verbal English communication skills essential. Qualifications: ME/MTech/BE (EEE/ECE)/B.Tech (EEE/ECE) or equivalent 6+ years of experience in designing power electronic products.
