Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensure production efficiency, maintain quality standards, and support our mission-critical projects for defense and aerospace clients. This role reports directly to the Managing Director and plays a key role in coordinating production, quality, procurement, and logistics functions. Key Responsibilities Production Management Plan and coordinate daily production schedules for PCB assembly and turnkey manufacturing operations Monitor production workflows to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders Coordinate with the production team to optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime Track work-in-progress (WIP) and maintain production status reports Ensure smooth coordination between SMT assembly, through-hole assembly, testing, and inspection stages Quality Management & Compliance Ensure adherence to EN 9100:2018 quality management system requirements Coordinate with the quality team for First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process inspections, and final testing Maintain production documentation including traveler cards, inspection reports, and traceability records Support internal and external audits for aerospace and defense certifications Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for production-related non-conformances Material Management & Procurement Coordination Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for timely material availability Manage material kitting for production orders and ensure proper material traceability Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for material delivery schedules Handle obsolete component sourcing and alternative component management Maintain accurate records in the inventory management system Client Coordination & Order Management Act as the operational point of contact for clients including HAL, BEL, and other defense/aerospace customers Coordinate with clients regarding production schedules, delivery timelines, and technical clarifications Prepare and share production status updates and shipping documentation Handle customer complaints related to delivery and coordinate resolution Equipment & Facility Management Coordinate maintenance schedules for SMT equipment, AOI systems, Flying Probe testers, and other manufacturing equipment Ensure proper calibration of equipment and measuring instruments Support implementation of new equipment and production line improvements Monitor utility consumption and coordinate with facilities management Team Coordination & Process Improvement Coordinate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, procurement, and engineering Support implementation of process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives Maintain operational metrics and KPIs (OEE, yield rates, on-time delivery, etc.) Participate in root cause analysis for production issues and delays Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily production reports, delivery schedules, and operational dashboards Prepare monthly operations review reports for management Ensure proper documentation as per aerospace and defense customer requirements Support ERP/MES system implementation and data management Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field Diploma holders with exceptional experience may be considered Experience: 2-4 years of experience in electronics manufacturing operations, preferably in PCB assembly or EMS industry Exposure to defense, aerospace, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing is highly preferred Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, or EN 9100) is an advantage Technical Skills: Understanding of PCB assembly processes (SMT, through-hole, testing, inspection) Familiarity with manufacturing equipment such as pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI systems, and testing equipment Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001) for electronics assembly Basic understanding of electronic components, BOM management, and material traceability Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ERP/MES system experience is a plus Core Competencies: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and coordination skills Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Team player with a proactive approach Preferred Qualifications Experience working with government clients or defense contractors Knowledge of export documentation and logistics for defense/aerospace products Familiarity with IPC-2581, Gerber files, and manufacturing data formats Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies What We Offer Opportunity to work with India's leading defense and aerospace organizations Exposure to advanced electronics manufacturing technologies and processes Professional growth in a specialized, high-reliability manufacturing environment Collaborative work culture with direct interaction with senior management Competitive compensation package
