Position: Area Business Manager (ABM) Department: Sales & Marketing Location: Hisar / Nagpur / Ludhiana / Ambala / Rohtak Reports To: Regional Business Manager (RBM) Role Overview The Area Business Manager (ABM) will be responsible for driving sales performance, managing field teams, and ensuring achievement of business objectives within the assigned area. This role requires strong leadership, market understanding, and the ability to build strong customer and team relationships. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Achieve sales, productivity, and profitability targets for the assigned area. Monitor and drive prescription generation to ensure growth and brand visibility. Identify growth opportunities, develop business plans, and execute brand-building activities. Team Management Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Business Executives (BEs) Conduct joint fieldwork, ensure adherence to call averages, and monitor effective coverage of doctors, hospitals, and stockists. Drive performance through regular feedback, training, and performance reviews. Market & Customer Engagement Build strong relationships with key doctors, KOLs, hospitals, and distributors. Ensure proper implementation of marketing strategies and promotional inputs at the field level. Gather market intelligence on competitor activities, pricing, and market trends. Operational Excellence Ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and reporting systems. Manage inventory, distribution, and secondary sales flow effectively. Support implementation of CRM tools, digital initiatives, and data-driven sales monitoring. Key Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and people management skills. Ability to drive execution and deliver results under pressure. Qualifications & Experience Graduate/Pharmacy/Science background preferred; MBA in Marketing/Sales will be an advantage. 5-8 years of experience in CVD pharmaceutical sales, with at least 2-3 years in a frontline leadership role. Proven track record of handling sales teams and achieving targets. Career Path Successful ABMs may progress to Regional Business Manager (RBM) and subsequently to Zonal/Business Head roles, based on performance.
