Medical Officer

To provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical care to patients, coordinate with consultants and healthcare teams, and ensure smooth functioning of medical services in assigned units or departments

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care

• Provide primary and emergency medical care to patients.

• Conduct clinical assessments, take histories, and order diagnostic tests.

• Initiate and monitor treatment plans under the guidance of consultants.

2. Coordination with Consultants & Multidisciplinary Teams

• Support consultants during rounds and procedures.

• Ensure timely updates and coordination across nursing, diagnostics, and pharmacy.

3. Documentation & Medical Records

• Ensure timely, accurate, and complete documentation in patient files and electronic health records (EHR).

• Maintain medico-legal documentation, consent forms, and discharge summaries as per protocol.

4. Emergency Response

• Respond promptly to emergency codes (Code Blue, Code Red, etc.).

• Handle initial stabilization of critically ill or trauma patients.

5. Patient & Family Communication

• Communicate clinical status, treatment plans, and updates to patients and families with empathy and clarity.

• Address patient concerns and escalate when necessary.

6. Compliance & Clinical Governance

• Follow infection control protocols, hand hygiene, and hospital SOPs.

• Participate in audits, case discussions, and mortality/morbidity meetings.

7. Training & Development

• Attend CME programs, skill-building sessions, and internal medical training.

• Train interns or junior doctors if applicable.
