Mechanical Development Engineer

Role & responsibilities

* Support prototype assembly and fitment checks of mechanical components and assemblies.

* Assist in product testing, functional validation, and performance evaluation.

* Support mechanical troubleshooting and identification of product-related issues.

* Assist in tooling development, tool trials, and validation.

* Coordinate with tool vendors for development samples, moulds, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.

* Support prototype and sample development activities with vendors.

* Assist in inspection and dimensional verification using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, and other measuring instruments.

* Read and understand basic engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.

* Support product trials, pilot production, and development activities.

* Provide technical observations and feedback during prototype and tooling trials.

* Coordinate with R&D, Production, Quality, Purchase, Tool Room, and vendor teams.

* Prepare basic test reports, inspection reports, trial reports, and development documentation.

* Support continuous improvement and product development activities.

* Learn and develop knowledge of DFM/DFA, tooling, manufacturing processes, and product validation.

Required Skills

* Basic knowledge of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.

* Good understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.

* Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances.

* Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper and Micrometer.

* Basic understanding of moulds, dies, jigs, fixtures, and tooling is an advantage.

* Good analytical and problem-solving ability.

* Hands-on interest in mechanical assembly, testing, and product development.

* Good communication and teamwork skills.

* Willingness to learn and work in a practical R&D environment.

* Basic knowledge of AutoCAD / Creo / SolidWorks will be an added advantage.

Preferred candidate profile

* B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

* Freshers are encouraged to apply.

* Candidates with internship, academic project, or hands-on project experience in mechanical/product development will be preferred.
