Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons suited to students’ age and ability levels.
- Use innovative and interactive teaching methods to make complex concepts understandable.
- Support and challenge students to achieve their full potential.
- Curriculum Development
- Design lesson plans and schemes of work that align with school or national curriculum standards.
- Integrate technology and real-life applications to make lessons relevant.
- Update teaching materials regularly to reflect modern mathematical practices.
- Assessment & Evaluation
- Prepare and conduct tests, quizzes, assignments, and exams.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records of progress.
- Provide timely feedback and identify areas for improvement.
- Classroom & Behavior Management
- Create a safe, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Promote positive behavior, mutual respect, and cooperation among students.
- Student Support & Guidance
- Identify and support students with learning difficulties or exceptional talent.
- Offer additional help through tutoring, remedial classes, or enrichment sessions.
- Encourage students to participate in math-related activities and competitions.
- Professional Collaboration
- Participate in departmental and staff meetings, workshops, and training programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and educational improvements.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
- Administrative Tasks
- Maintain student records, attendance, and lesson documentation.
- Contribute to school events, parent meetings, and academic planning.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (required).
- Master’s Degree in Mathematics or Education (preferred).
- Teaching Qualification / Certification, such as B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent (required).
Experience:
- Minimum: 1–3 years of experience teaching Mathematics at secondary or higher-secondary level.
- Preferred: 3–5 years of experience in a recognized school or college.
- Experience with modern teaching methods, digital learning tools, and student assessment systems is an advantage.
- Proven record of achieving strong student outcomes in Mathematics.
