Manager - Packaging Design & Development

Role Overview: You will be responsible for developing the packaging of new product launches from conceptualization to commercialization, supporting various product categories in achieving their business objectives. Your key focus areas will include driving development projects, estimating shelf life and costings, developing competitive packaging vendors, benchmarking competition, quality checks, artwork development, packaging specifications, troubleshooting, data analysis, and more. Additionally, you will be involved in liaising with industry for innovation, prototyping new concepts, testing ideas, ensuring compliance, and maintaining departmental SOPs. Key Responsibilities: - Drive development projects individually to meet launch timelines - Estimate shelf life, lead time, and costings of SKUs in different packaging formats - Develop new competitive packaging vendors across India - Develop industry-best packaging materials within target costings - Benchmark competition packaging for competitiveness - Develop and monitor quality checks at co-packer facility - Support brand teams in artwork development and mockup creation - Develop packaging specifications and SOPs for various formats - Troubleshoot packaging issues in factory and market - Analyze packaging-related complaints and present data to stakeholders - Travel to co-packer and printer locations for approvals - Liaise with industry for packaging innovations and idea generation - Ensure compliance of printed packaging material with approved artworks - Comply with departmental SOPs for new developments and pack changes Qualifications Required: - Post Graduate diploma in Packaging from IIP or equivalent institute with a minimum of 8 years of experience OR - Engineer/PGD in allied fields like plastic & polymer technology, printing technology, etc. with a minimum of 8 years of experience in FMCG packaging development Additional Details: Swiggy is India's leading on-demand delivery platform with a tech-first approach to logistics and a solution-first approach to consumer demands.
