PURPOSE

As the trusted partner to the BU CFO / Director for all Business Finance matters, the Finance Business Partner enables financially sound planning and decision making across the partner organization. The role spreads financial acumen, tells clear, data-driven stories that spur action, bridges the gap between finance and operations, and helps shape the decision support tools delivered with Data and Analytics / FP&A.

The role takes a technology-guided, coaching-led approach to partnering, enabling decision makers to act more independently. It interprets data, advises the business and supports long-run performance management, drawing on a deep understanding of SITA's business models and financial drivers to convert analysis into decisions, targets and outcomes. It does not produce reporting; production is owned centrally by Data and Analytics / FP&A.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deepen decision makers’ Business Finance acumen

  • Continuously coach decision makers on how Business Finance analyzes situations, develops insights, and applies them to decisions.
  • Influence decisions through narrative and visuals: Turn financial analysis into clear, compelling stories linked to business decisions. Use standardized Data & Analytics / FP&A and BI reports, ERP analytics, Copilot, and tailored visuals based on governed data. Focus on decision quality rather than analysis volume.
  • Challenge assumptions through problem analysis and root-cause exercises to reduce bias and introduce a Finance perspective.
  • Train decision makers to use value-driver trees to connect operational decisions with enterprise value creation, risk mitigation, investment priorities, and financial impact.
  • Improve financial data literacy through learning programs, financial storytelling, modeling, and scenario analysis, helping stakeholders understand financial impacts and risks.

Assess and anticipate decision makers’ needs

  • Build strong relationships with executives and business leaders to understand financial needs, challenges, and the most effective support required.
  • Identify latent needs through active listening and uncover opportunities for new decision-support tools and services from Data & Analytics / FP&A.
  • Maintain continuous stakeholder feedback loops to rapidly improve Finance services and support.

Provide personalized decision support to executives

  • Proactively guide executives toward meeting and exceeding performance goals.
  • Monitor leading indicators to identify delivery risks and performance gaps, drive corrective actions, and recommend alternative approaches.
  • Help executives identify opportunities to create enterprise value or mitigate risk through effective metric prioritization.

Support nonexecutive decision makers when appropriate

  • Assess and prioritize inbound support requests and determine whether existing decision-support tools can meet the need or new solutions are required.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities and support cost-reduction planning.
  • Pressure-test budgets, providing Business Finance expertise on potential risks and constraints.
  • Lead comprehensive business cases for investments, product initiatives, internal funding, and M&A. Assess benefits, costs, risks, and ROI through realistic, measurable, stress-tested financial models. Partner with Pricing, Product, and transversal teams; present and defend cases to Investment Boards; track actual versus projected ROI; drive corrective actions; and lead post-M&A integration planning.
  • Identify performance issues and support course correction.

Facilitate digital decision-support tools

  • Partner with technology teams to ensure tools provide actionable guidance for operational and strategic decisions.
  • Act as the voice of the internal customer with Data & Analytics / FP&A and technology teams, helping design intuitive reports, analyses, and dashboards for nonexecutive decision makers.

Drive adoption of decision-support tools

  • Match stakeholders with the most appropriate decision-support tools.
  • Demonstrate their value through success stories and early adopters/change champions, tailoring communications to different audiences.
  • Support change-management strategies that increase adoption of new tools and processes.
  • Translate financial insights into clear business language so recommendations embedded in tools are intuitive and actionable.

Monitor and assess the value of support

  • Champion Finance Business Partner and Data & Analytics / FP&A knowledge-sharing forums to exchange lessons on educating and supporting decision makers.
  • Help define success criteria and measurable business and technical metrics for decision-support tools, monitoring utilization and quality.
  • Proactively seek stakeholder feedback.
