The Plant Quality Head ensures end-to-end quality control and assurance across fabrication and galvanizing operations, driving compliance. The role involves leading audits, resolving customer complaints, monitoring KPIs, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives. It requires strong leadership of the quality team and close coordination with production, procurement, and maintenance. The position operates with a high degree of autonomy and is key to maintaining product and process quality. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 9001-compliant QMS; lead internal, external, and certification audits; monitor KPIs like rejection rate, rework %, DPPM, and complaints. Oversee quality of incoming materials by ensuring inspection/testing, coordinating with procurement and vendors on NCRs and supplier quality improvements. Supervise in-process quality checks across all production stages (cutting, welding, assembly, etc.) and ensure adherence to engineering drawings and BOMs. Monitor and control galvanizing processes including surface preparation, zinc bath, coating thickness, and compliance with ASTM A123 / IS 2629 standards. Approve final inspection reports, coordinate Third Party and customer inspections, and issue quality clearance certificates for dispatch. Handle customer complaints with detailed RCA, implement CAPA, maintain complaint logs, and ensure communication with clients. Lead and train the QA/QC team, conduct skill development programs, ensure safety compliance, and promote continuous improvement through 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and Lean tools. Maintain all quality documentation and reports, ensure compliance with national/international standards, and present monthly performance reports to leadership. Qualifications Minimum: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field. Desirable: Working knowledge of ISO 9001, quality tools (like 5S, Kaizen, CAPA), and standard codes (IS, ASTM, BS, IEC) Having 10 - 20 years of experience in a Fabrication or Galvanizing Plant (Transmission Line Tower).
