DUTIES : Develop detailed 2D and 3D designs and drawings using SolidWorks, AutoDesk Inventor DraftSight and AutoCAD. Collaborate with the sales team to create concept drawings and visual aids for client proposals. Collaborate with Research and Development team to develop mechanical design/machine design concepts alongwith manufacturing drawings, bill of materials, visual aids etc. Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and optimized for fabrication. Coordinate and collaborate with external contractors and partners in the design and engineering field to support project requirements. Prepare detailed fabrication and assembly drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and all related documentation required for mechanical design Participate in project review meetings and provide design input to improve manufacturability and e4iciency. Lead special design projects as assigned by ownership. Help establish and document design standards, templates, and workflows as part of building our internal design department. Other engineering and documentation duties as assgined by the ownership. QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of engineering design and research experience in some capacity in a manufacturing environment The candidate must have either a 3-year technologist diploma or a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related discipline. The individual will have working knowledge of mechanical parts, strength of materials and their mechanical properties. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and Inventor, or comparable 3D design software, with experience in both modeling and generating mechanical drawings. Experience with custom machine and automation design. Experience and understanding of ePDM is preferred. Must possess solid written and verbal communication skills. Must be able and willing to work in a team environment. Must be a self-starter and work with minimal direction. Must be willing and able to learn our products and processes. Requires travel (domestic / pan India) up to 25% of work time. Must be able to travel on short notice. WORKING CONDITIONS: Primarily works in an o4ice environment at a computer workstation. Individual must be willing and able to work in and around machines and equipment. Travel to customer sites to understand application and gather information needed for the design work as required. Travel to supplier facility for co-ordination and networking as required.
