Job description Job Overview: A civil project engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects in the civil engineering field. They play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed within budget, on schedule, and according to the required quality standards. The job of a civil project engineer involves a combination of technical, organizational, and managerial skills. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Design: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and PMC Spocs to define project goals, objectives, and requirements. Develop project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule, considering available resources and regulatory constraints. Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and other project documents. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Team Management: Manage architects including engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and other personnel. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and ensure they understand project objectives and requirements. Provide guidance and support to team members, monitor their progress, and address any issues that arise. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, including critical path analysis and resource allocation. Monitor project progress and ensure that work is completed according to the planned schedule. Identify and resolve any delays, conflicts, or issues that may impact project timelines. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Quality Assurance: Establish quality standards and ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor work quality and identify areas for improvement. Implement corrective actions to address any non-compliance or quality issues. Ensure that completed projects meet client expectations and achieve the desired level of quality. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for PMC Spoc providing regular project updates and addressing their concerns. Facilitate effective communication between project team members. Prepare and present progress reports, presentations, and other project documentation. Health and Safety: Promote and enforce safety standards and procedures on the construction site. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and requirements. Technical Skills In-depth knowledge of construction processes, railways, road construction, bridges and other building codes and regulations Proficiency in project management software and tools. Knowledge Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
