Job Overview:A VMC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) to manufacture precision parts. The operator will work with a variety of materials such as metal, plastic, or composite, and ensure the equipment functions efficiently and accurately while meeting production schedules and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate VMC machines (including tool installation, workpiece setup, and program loading). Verify machine settings and test the machine to ensure it operates according to specifications. Interpret blueprints, CAD/CAM drawings, and specifications to produce parts according to design requirements. Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure adherence to tolerances. Perform in-process inspections to detect and correct any issues. Document quality checks and adjustments to meet production standards. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine machine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out parts. Identify and troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions or defects. Report major equipment failures or concerns to the maintenance team.
