Position Title: Junior Architect Department: Architecture & Interiors Qualification: B.Arch-Architecture degree is mandatory. Experience: 0-3 yrs office work experience is required (freelance work will not be considered as experience) Notice Period: Immediate to 30 days Location: Mylapore, Chennai (prefer Chennai candidates or candidates ready to relocate to Chennai) Reports to: Principal Architect / MD Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site position for a Junior Architect at LR Infrastructure in Chennai. The Junior Architect will be responsible for handling the projects from start to end, attending client meetings, conducting site visits, and reporting to the principal architect. We are looking for a passionate Architect with the motivation to learn. To perform all phases of architectural and interior works, including planning, designing, presentations, detailed drawings, site visits, and material selection. You will be involved in new building designs, extensions, alterations, and Interior projects from concept design to the detailed design stage till completion. So, the candidate should be ready to handle all stages of the project independently. Should be eager to learn new software, willing to do the drawings and 3D works for the projects. The goal is to match the clients needs by producing sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing designs under budget. Freelancing experience will not be considered work experience. Role & Responsibilities: Control the project from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative, and functional design Prepare the “brief” to identify clients’ needs from the Initial client meetings withthe Principal Architect. Put together feasibility reports and design proposals, and create a scheme keeping in mind the client’s needs, building’s usage, and environmental impact under the guidance of the Principal Architect. Coordinate with our Engineering team to prepare an estimate. After the client’s approval, produce detailed blueprints for the approval and construction phase. Coordinate with vendors and consultants regarding the materials and finishes required for the project and get samples. Compile project specifications and get approval from a client with all specifications and samples. Keep checking if the project is within budget and timelines. Make on-site visits to check on project status and produce reports on the project to the Senior Architect after every visit. Ensure that all works are carried out on-site to specific standards, building codes, guidelines, regulations, and as per our design during the site visits. Cooperate and liaise with construction professionals and consultants. Follow architectural trends and advancements, and be ready to do research on products and materials when required. Keep reporting the progress of each project to the Principal Architect daily. Software skills: Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketchup, Vray, Photoshop & MS Office. Knowing Vectorworks, Illustrator, and InDesign will be an added value. Languages: Tamil & English are mandatory, knowing Hindi will be an added value. Salary: 18k -25k per month.
