Loading & Unloading Supervisor – Import Container Operations

Job Description

We are urgently looking for an experienced Loading & Unloading Supervisor to manage and supervise the loading and unloading of import shipping containers at Nhava Sheva (JNPT). The candidate will be responsible for coordinating container unloading activities, manpower deployment, cargo handling, and documentation while ensuring operational efficiency and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the unloading of imported cargo from shipping containers at the port, CFS, ICD, or designated warehouse.
• Coordinate container handling activities, including cargo unloading, segregation, stacking, and movement to designated storage areas.
• Allocate and monitor labour, loaders, forklift operators, and other handling personnel.
• Coordinate with transporters, CFS/port personnel, warehouse teams, and logistics representatives for timely container clearance and unloading.
• Monitor container arrival, unloading schedules, turnaround time, and cargo movement.
• Verify cargo quantities, packaging condition, and visible damage; report shortages, damages, or discrepancies immediately.
• Ensure proper handling of imported goods and maintain accurate unloading records and related documentation.
• Follow safety procedures during container opening, cargo handling, material movement, and equipment operation.
• Monitor labour productivity, minimize cargo damage, and ensure efficient utilization of manpower and handling equipment.
• Submit daily operational reports covering containers handled, unloading status, manpower deployment, and pending activities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in import container unloading, shipping logistics, CFS operations, port operations, or cargo handling.
• Practical knowledge of import shipping container unloading procedures and cargo movement.
• Experience in manpower supervision and coordination with transporters and logistics teams.
• Knowledge of cargo tallying, damage reporting, unloading records, and basic import documentation.
• Ability to manage daily operations under tight timelines and operational pressure.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work at Nhava Sheva and in shifts, as required.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with hands-on experience in import container unloading at Nhava Sheva/JNPT, Container Freight Stations (CFS), port terminals, or import warehouses will be preferred.
