Lead Experience Designer

Finastra has signed an agreement to sell its Universal Banking business to Pollen Street Capital, with completion expected end 2026 / early 2027, subject to consultation and customary closing conditions. Upon completion, this role is expected to transition to the standalone Universal Banking business, creating opportunities to support its future growth and success.

About the Role

Finastra is looking for an experienced Lead Experience Designer to help shape the future of banking experiences across our Universal Banking portfolio.

This role sits at the intersection of customer experience, product strategy, domain expertise and modern technology. Working closely with Product Management, Engineering and Architecture teams, you will transform complex banking workflows into intuitive, effective and engaging experiences for banks and their customers.

You will be responsible for influencing the experience direction across multiple banking domains, helping to establish consistency, usability and design excellence while supporting the evolution towards AI-enabled and composable banking platforms.

This is an opportunity to work on some of the most complex and impactful challenges in financial services, covering lending, payments, deposits, cash management, liquidity, commercial banking, corporate banking and future platform capabilities.

What will you Contribute :

Shape Experience Strategy

• Define and evolve experience principles across the Universal Banking portfolio.
• Partner with Product Management to influence product strategy and roadmap decisions through a user-centered lens.
• Contribute to long-term experience vision and ensure consistency across domains and products.
• Advocate for customer and user outcomes throughout the product lifecycle.

Simplify Complex Banking Journeys

• Translate sophisticated banking workflows into intuitive user experiences.
• Design solutions for complex operational, decisioning and servicing journeys.
• Identify opportunities to reduce friction, improve efficiency and increase user confidence.
• Balance user needs, commercial requirements and technical constraints.

Drive Design Excellence

• Lead end-to-end experience design activities from discovery through delivery.
• Create user journeys, workflows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs.
• Establish and promote best practices in interaction design, usability, accessibility and information architecture.
• Contribute to and evolve shared design systems and experience standards.

Partner Across Functions

• Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, Engineers and Business Analysts to define and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Provide design leadership across multiple initiatives and product areas.
• Facilitate workshops and collaborative design sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships across global teams and influence without direct authority.

Design for the Future

• Explore emerging design patterns enabled by AI, automation and intelligent assistants.
• Help define human and AI interaction models within banking experiences.

Identify opportunities to modernize and improve existing experiences through innovative approaches and technologies

Qualification and Experience Required :8+Yrs

Essential Experience

• Significant experience in UX, product design or experience design roles within enterprise software environments.
• Should have experience designing complex, workflow-driven applications.
• Strong expertise across interaction design, information architecture and user-centered design methodologies.
• Experience working within agile product development organizations.
• Ability to communicate and present design concepts to diverse stakeholder groups.
Strong facilitation and collaboration skills.

Highly Desirable

• Experience within banking, financial services or fintech.
• Experience designing solutions for corporate banking, commercial banking, lending, cash management, liquidity management or payments.
• Exposure to SaaS and cloud-native platforms.
• Experience designing AI-assisted user experiences and intelligent workflows.
• Familiarity with platform, ecosystem and composable product approaches.
