Job Title: Lead Engineer – Java, Spring Boot & Microservices

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Design and implement microservices-based architectures and RESTful APIs.
- Drive technical architecture, HLD, LLD and system design discussions.
- Develop secure APIs and implement authentication, authorization and access control mechanisms.
- Design and implement multithreaded applications using Java concurrency APIs.
- Develop distributed systems and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
- Implement fault tolerance, resiliency, exception handling and distributed transaction patterns.
- Perform application performance optimization, JVM tuning, memory management and database query optimization.
- Design and implement cloud-native applications with high availability and scalability.
- Deploy, manage and troubleshoot applications in cloud environments.
- Implement containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Design, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Lead code reviews, technical discussions and mentor development teams.
- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues and drive root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with architecture, QA, DevOps and business teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Support production deployments, Go-Live and post-production stabilization.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of strong hands-on experience in Java backend development.
- Strong expertise in Core Java and Java 8/11/17 features.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Spring Security.
- Strong experience in microservices architecture and REST API development.
- Excellent knowledge of API security, OAuth 2.0, JWT and authentication/authorization mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, synchronization, Executor Framework and CompletableFuture.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems and Apache Kafka.
- Strong system design, architectural design and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in application performance tuning, JVM optimization, memory management and profiling.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), including application deployment and troubleshooting.
- Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and/or Azure DevOps.
- Strong knowledge of JPA/Hibernate and relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Experience in database design, SQL optimization, indexing and transaction management.
- Experience with application monitoring, logging, distributed tracing and production troubleshooting.
- Strong technical leadership, ownership and mentoring skills.
Good to Have
- Experience in Banking & Financial Services (BFSI) domain.
- Knowledge of payment processing, reconciliation and payment investigation workflows.
- Experience with high-volume transaction processing systems.
- Knowledge of Redis, distributed caching and messaging patterns.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture and observability tools.
