Role Description & Location Maritime Lawyer (Shipping and Commercial Laws) Location: Mumbai/ Andheri (India) full time at client's office Qualifications, Experience & Responsibilities Enrolled with the Bar Council Mandatory exposure to Shipping and Maritime Law 2 to 3 years of experience in active legal practice or as part of an in-house legal team within a logistics or shipping company Prior appearances before Customs, DRI, CESTAT, High Courts, Supreme Court, NCLT, and other appellate or adjudicating authorities Drafting and replying to statutory notices, preparing case briefs, supporting litigation and arbitration. Sound knowledge of shipping disputes: charterparties, detention, demurrage, long-standing cargo, cargo claims, documentation errors, and related contractual issues etc. Familiarity with end-to-end shipping documentation: bills of lading, manifests, delivery orders, port clearances. Coordinate with the client’s cross-functional teams and with Senior Advocates within LawCite Advocates. Manage documentation and assist in representations before relevant courts and authorities. Travel outside Mumbai, if required, will be facilitated by the client and reimbursed.
