Program Vision LaundroKart has been selected for a global, future-ready AI research initiative supported by CINET (International Committee of Professional Textile Care). The program aims to build one of the world’s first real-world garment intelligence datasets by analyzing how garments perform across repeated professional washes. Unlike laboratory testing, this initiative captures real consumer usage patterns, durability signals, and wash-life outcomes. The insights generated can help international brands understand how long garments truly last (for example, 30 washes versus 50 washes), how fabrics and constructions differ, and how consumers actually use and re-use apparel. This research has the potential to influence product design, sustainability decisions, and quality benchmarks across the global garment industry. Internship Role Overview This is a hands-on, execution-driven internship. The intern will work directly inside live operations and will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and documenting Phase 1 of the AI garment performance study. This is not an observational role. Key Responsibilities • Work hands-on in factory and QA operations on live garments selected for the global AI program. • Execute garment tagging, wash-count tracking, and ensure continuity across repeated wash cycles. • Capture garment images after every wash following defined imaging protocols. • Maintain accurate garment-level datasets linking wash cycles, images, and observations. • Interact with selected customers using approved scripts and obtain program consent. • Track garment participation and follow up on delays. • Support preparation of datasets and insights for AI model development. • Prepare weekly progress reports and contribute to the CINET case study and presentation.
