Lab Technician

Job Description

Role & responsibilities To conduct experiments and analyze samples using a range of techniques and equipment. You are responsible for maintaining accurate records of test results, as well as ensuring that the lab equipment and supplies are properly maintained and calibrated. Your work will involve preparing chemical solutions, performing quality control tests. Coordinate and execute laboratory experiments, projects, and services. Write and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other technical documents. Conduct experiments and tasks in strict compliance with SOPs and lab protocols. Train and demonstrate experimental techniques and equipment handling to team members. Maintain detailed lab records, including preparation logs and procedural notes. Calibrate, maintain, and operate a wide range of scientific instruments and lab equipment. Modify and adapt laboratory setups as per research or project needs. Prepare and handle chemicals, reagents, solutions, and sterile media with precision. Collect, analyze, and report on production samples; investigate quality issues. Manage chemical inventory, monitor supply levels, and coordinate procurement. Ensure proper chemical storage and waste disposal in compliance with regulations. Maintain a clean, safe, and functional lab environment at all times. Participate in exhibitions, conferences, and off-site trials as needed. Stay current with industry trends and best practices through continuous learning. Protect proprietary information and maintain confidentiality. Preferred candidate profile Graduate or Under-Graduate in Chemistry. About 2 years of experience working in a lab. Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs Laboratory skills, including ability to analyze data, interpret and evaluate technical information. A high willingness to learn and an interest in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
