Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Intern to join our Mechanical CAD Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will support the creation, modification, and analysis of 2D and 3D mechanical designs using CAD software. You will be essential in ensuring the accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability of mechanical components and systems. Key Responsibilities: Assist in creating and updating 2D & 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings for mechanical components and systems. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and R&D, to transform concepts into detailed designs. Ensure adherence to engineering standards, company policies, and relevant regulations. Assist in conducting tolerance analysis, selecting materials, and applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Assist to perform feasibility studies and simulations for structural and/or thermal analysis to evaluate design feasibility and manufacturability. Assist in prototyping and testing processes, integrating feedback into design revisions. Contribute to organize a database of CAD files and associated documentation. Identify design issues and develop solutions to enhance functionality and cost-efficiency. Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in CAD tools and trends in mechanical engineering. Required Skills and Qualifications: Ongoing or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, CAD Design, or a related field. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or Siemens NX). Proficiency in Simulation software (e.g. Solidworks, Ansys Fluent, Icepak, Ansys Mechanical) Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis. Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other simulation tools is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Effective communication skills for collaboration and presenting design concepts.
