Role & responsibilities Pre-operative Duties: Prepare and maintain the operating theater and equipment. Ensure all surgical instruments and materials are sterile and ready. Assist in the preparation and positioning of patients for surgery. Verify patient identity and surgical site in line with safety protocols. Assist with anesthesia preparation and support. Intra-operative Duties: Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures. Monitor and handle surgical equipment and sterile field integrity. Ensure proper handling of specimens collected during surgery. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficiency. Assist in applying dressings and transferring patients post-surgery. Post-operative Duties: Clean and sterilize instruments and the operating room. Dispose of waste and bio hazard materials in compliance with safety standards. Restock supplies and prepare the theater for the next procedure. Document procedures and maintain accurate records. Assist in patient recovery and transportation. Preferred candidate profile Certifications: Registration with relevant health or professional regulatory body (if required). Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
