Role & responsibilities We are looking for a passionate and skilled Design Engineer to join our Design & Development team. The candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and analysis of rotating electrical machines , including motors, alternators, and related assemblies. The role requires strong design skills using SolidWorks and simulation experience using Ansys Maxwell or similar electromagnetic analysis tools. Key Responsibilities Design and develop rotating electrical machines (AC/DC motors, alternators, hub motors, traction motors, etc.) from concept to production. Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks . Perform electromagnetic simulations using Ansys Maxwell to evaluate motor performance. Conduct mechanical and thermal analysis to ensure optimal design and reliability. Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities. Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) , technical documentation, and design reports. Collaborate with the electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams for design reviews and improvements. Ensure designs comply with industry standards (IEC, IS, etc.) and internal quality systems. Required Skills Strong knowledge of rotating machine design principles (stator, rotor, shaft, bearings, ventilation, etc.). Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailing. Experience with Ansys Maxwell (electromagnetic design and analysis). Familiarity with thermal, vibration, and structural considerations in motor design. Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) . Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Skills Exposure to railway traction motor or EV motor design. Knowledge of Ansys Mechanical or similar FEA tools. Experience with SolidWorks PDM/PLM systems . Understanding of testing and validation procedures for rotating machines.
