Position Requirements

• 5+ years of Kafka administration

  experience supporting mission-critical 24x7 environments.
• Hands-on experience with K

  afka clusters hosted on ROSA in AWS and on-premises Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.

• Experience

  building Kafka deployment pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation templates, and scripting.

• Experience i

  mplementing Kafka security and authorization models

  .
• Experience with

  Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, KSQL, REST Proxy, Control Center, Mirror Maker, or Confluent Replicator.

• Knowledge of

  Kafka APIs, security, performance, and disaster recovery best practices

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Summary Essential Job Functions

• Manage large-scale multi-node Kafka cluster environments residing on AWS and on-premises OpenShift platforms.
• Handle all Kafka environment builds, including design, capacity planning, cluster setup, performance tuning, and ongoing monitoring.
• Perform high-level day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for Kafka clusters.
• Develop key performance metrics to measure utilization, performance, and overall cluster health.
• Plan capacity requirements and implement new or upgraded hardware, software releases, and storage infrastructure.
• Research, recommend, and automate key administration tasks where possible.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and lead engineers.
• Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures.
• Create topics, configure cluster redundancy, deploy monitoring tools, and establish alerting mechanisms.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to production support teams.
