What You’ll Do Lead : Build and lead a world-class engineering team from scratch — backend, frontend, AI/ML, DevOps. Own the stack : Architect, ship, and optimize systems across Java, Spring Boot, Python, Angular, Postgres, NLP, AI Agents, Langchain, LLMs, Voice Agents and cloud infra (AWS/GCP). As a high-agency, high-energy Java backend engineer at JobTwine, you will have the opportunity to take full ownership of microservices that directly power our AI interview engine. You will collaborate closely with founders and cross-functional AI teams to design and implement robust, low-latency, scalable backend systems using Java (17+), Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. Your role will involve owning and managing the full lifecycle of these systems, from architecture to implementation, testing, deployment, and observability. Your responsibilities will include building REST APIs for our AI interview engine, supporting real-time voice interactions, and working in collaboration with AI/ML and frontend teams to deliver new features efficiently. You will be expected to write clean, testable, maintainable code with thorough documentation, optimize performance, refactor systems as needed, and mentor junior engineers as the team grows. To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum of 3-4 years of solid backend development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. Strong proficiency in REST APIs, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and Redis/Kafka/RabbitMQ is essential, along with experience working with cloud platforms like AWS/GCP and CI/CD tools.
