The Store In-Charge is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of all raw materials, trims, accessories etc within the garment manufacturing unit's store. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, minimizes waste, and supports seamless production flow by providing timely and accurate material availability. The Store In-Charge will implement and maintain robust inventory control systems, supervise store staff, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Oversee the receiving, inspection, storage, and dispatch of all incoming raw materials (fabric, trims (buttons, zippers, labels), accessories, and packaging materials. Implement and maintain an effective inventory management system (manual or software-based) for accurate stock tracking, reorder levels, and bin locations. Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records, identifying and investigating discrepancies. Minimize material waste, obsolescence, and damage through proper handling, storage, and rotation practices (FIFO/LIFO). Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stock-outs and overstocking, aligning with production schedules and procurement. Prepare and submit reports on store operations, material consumption, and efficiency metrics. Supervise, train, and manage a team of store assistants/helpers. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Foster a safe, organized, and efficient working environment within the store. Develop and implement efficient store layouts and material handling processes to optimize space utilization and workflow. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in store operations and inventory control. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. (Diploma holders with extensive experience may also be considered). Experience: 3-5 years of experience in store/warehouse management, preferably within the garment or textile manufacturing industry. Proven experience in managing a team. Skills: Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices. Proficiency in using inventory management software/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally, or industry-specific software). Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely. Knowledge of garment manufacturing raw materials and processes is a significant advantage.
