Position : Vice Principal Type : Full-time, Residential Role Overview The Vice Principal will assist the Principal in the academic, administrative, and operational management of the school. The role demands strong leadership, discipline, and organizational abilities to ensure smooth functioning of a residential CBSE school. The Vice Principal will work closely with staff, students, and parents while upholding the school’s vision, mission, and values. Key Responsibilities Academic Leadership Supervise and monitor the implementation of CBSE curriculum, teaching methodologies, and assessment systems. Ensure academic excellence by supporting teachers in lesson planning, classroom delivery, and evaluation. Organize remedial classes, enrichment programs, and academic interventions. Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers. Administrative Responsibilities Assist the Principal in day-to-day school administration, timetable preparation, and staff allocation. Supervise discipline, attendance, and punctuality of staff and students. Coordinate co-curricular, cultural, and sports activities. Maintain records and ensure compliance with CBSE norms, statutory requirements, and school policies. Residential School Duties Ensure proper care, discipline, and safety of hostel students. Oversee hostel routines, pastoral care, and mentoring programs. Act as a bridge between hostel wardens, teachers, and parents for residential life concerns. Staff Management Assist in teacher recruitment, orientation, and professional development. Monitor teacher performance and support capacity building initiatives. Encourage teamwork, motivation, and discipline among staff. Student Development & Discipline Maintain student discipline both in academic and residential areas. Counsel students on academic and behavioral issues. Promote student leadership through clubs, houses, and activities. Parent & Community Relations Communicate effectively with parents about student progress, concerns, and school policies. Organize parent-teacher meetings and maintain a positive school-community relationship. Qualifications & Experience Master’s Degree in any discipline with B.Ed./M.Ed. (as per CBSE norms). Minimum 10 years of teaching experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role (HOD/Coordinator/Vice Principal/Principal) in a CBSE school. Experience in managing residential schools will be preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Sound knowledge of CBSE curriculum, NEP 2020 guidelines, and school administration. Ability to mentor and motivate staff and students.
