IT Product Manager

Hexamicro Systems is looking for a hands-on IT Product Manager to manage computing hardware products from specification and component selection through assembly, testing, and production. The role involves working with suppliers, engineering, production and sales teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective products for customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Define product specifications and configurations based on customer applications and market requirements.
• Select and validate motherboards, processors, memory, storage, displays, touch panels, power supplies, enclosures and peripherals.
• Manage product development, prototype assembly, testing and transition to regular production.
• Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, technical specifications and product documentation.
• Coordinate with OEM/ODM partners and component suppliers on sourcing, compatibility, pricing, availability and technical issues.
• Establish assembly, inspection and testing processes with production and quality teams.
• Oversee BIOS/firmware configuration, operating system installation, driver compatibility, burn-in testing and troubleshooting.
• Manage product costing, component substitutions, engineering changes and product lifecycle updates.
• Support sales with technical proposals, demonstrations, tenders and customer-specific configurations.
• Investigate production failures and field returns, and coordinate corrective actions.

Candidate Profile

• Diploma or BE/BTech in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Preferably 4–6 years of relevant experience in computing hardware, system integration, assembly, or manufacturing.
• Practical experience with several of the following: kiosks, Mini PCs, Industrial PCs, biometric tablets and AIO PCs.
• Strong understanding of PC architecture, component compatibility, interfaces, thermal management, and power requirements.
• Familiarity with kiosk peripherals such as biometric readers, printers, scanners, cameras, card readers and payment devices.
• Ability to read technical datasheets, evaluate samples, troubleshoot hardware and guide assembly technicians.
• Experience with BOM management, production planning, quality checks, ESD practices and supplier coordination.
• Good commercial judgment, communication skills and ownership of product quality, cost, and delivery.

Preferred Experience

Experience with OEM/ODM sourcing, industrial or embedded systems, Windows/Linux /Android OS deployment, biometric SDK integration, and coordination of applicable product testing and certifications.

Success Measures

Timely product launches, accurate BOMs, consistent assembly quality, controlled product costs, reduced production defects and prompt resolution of customer issues
