The opportunity We are seeking an experienced Assessment Lead to build and manage our human-based assessment operations in India. This role is critical to scaling Invela's accreditation services, combining human expertise with our AI-powered platform to deliver comprehensive third-party risk assessments for our banking and fintech clients globally. Key responsibilitiesAssessment operations leadership Lead and scale the India-based assessment team responsible for conducting third-party risk management (TPRM) questionnaire reviews and accreditation assessments Develop and implement standardized assessment methodologies, quality control processes, and SLAs for human-based reviews Manage end-to-end assessment workflows including document review, evidence validation, risk scoring, and report generation Collaborate with the AI/ML team to optimize human-in-the-loop processes and improve assessment automation Risk assessment & compliance Oversee assessment of fintech companies against regulatory frameworks including CFPB Rule 1033, FDX standards, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and banking compliance requirements Review and validate security policies, financial statements, business continuity plans, and other accreditation documentation Identify risk indicators and provide expert judgment on complex assessment scenarios Stay current with evolving open banking regulations, data protection laws, and industry security standards Team building & stakeholder management Recruit, train, and mentor assessment analysts with expertise in information security, compliance, and risk management Establish performance metrics and quality assurance frameworks for the assessment team Serve as the primary point of contact for India operations, coordinating with US-based leadership and global clients Build relationships with fintech companies undergoing accreditation, providing guidance on assessment requirements Requirements 8+ years of experience in information security, risk management, compliance, or governance roles within financial services or fintech Demonstrated expertise in third-party risk management (TPRM), vendor assessments, or security audits Strong understanding of open banking/open finance ecosystems, APIs, and data sharing frameworks Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, or banking regulatory requirements Proven track record of building and leading teams in India, preferably within Global Capability Centers (GCC) or fintech environments Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interface with global stakeholders Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred Preferred qualifications Professional certifications: CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent Experience with Account Aggregator framework in India or FDX standards in the US Background working with major banks, NBFCs, or payment companies on risk assessments Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and automation in risk management processes Experience scaling operations from early-stage to mature delivery models What we offer Opportunity to build and lead a critical function in a high-growth fintech startup Work at the intersection of AI, open banking, and risk management—shaping the future of financial services Competitive compensation package with equity participation Flexible work arrangements (remote/hybrid options) Direct collaboration with US-based leadership and exposure to global financial institutions Professional development and certification support How to apply Interested candidates should submit their resume and a brief cover letter outlining their relevant experience in TPRM, information security, and team leadership.
