Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Content Creation & Editing:

  • Manipulate and edit raw video footage into polished, dynamic, and attention-grabbing short-form videos specifically optimized for

    Instagram Reels

    and

    Stories

    (vertical format, aspect ratio $9:16$).

Trim footage, sequence scenes, and ensure logical flow and continuity for compelling storytelling.

  • Input music, sound effects, dialogues, graphics, text overlays, and visual effects to enhance content.

Platform & Trend Management:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Instagram trends, viral audio, editing styles, and platform features to ensure content is relevant and maximizes organic reach.
  • Optimize videos for maximum visibility, leveraging relevant hashtags, captions, and trending topics.

Collaboration & Workflow:

  • Work closely with the Marketing and Content teams to grasp creative briefs, brand guidelines, and production needs.
  • Manage and organize video project files, ensuring all assets are systematically maintained.
  • Incorporate creative notes and feedback from stakeholders during the post-production process.

Quality & Output:

  • Ensure all videos meet high technical standards for quality, color consistency, and final polish before uploading.
  • Meet daily or weekly deadlines for a consistent content release schedule.

The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated professional with a deep passion for social media content and a proven ability to deliver high-impact video work.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience:

    Proven work experience (e.g., 1-3 years) as a Video Editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in creating content for

    Instagram Reels/TikTok/YouTube Shorts

    .

  • Technical Proficiency (Must Have):

    • Solid proficiency in industry-standard video editing software such as

      Adobe Premiere Pro

      and/or

      Final Cut Pro

      .
    • Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects software like

      Adobe After Effects

      for simple overlays, text animations, and transitions.
    • In-depth knowledge of mobile-first editing apps (e.g., CapCut, VN Editor) is a plus.

  • Creative & Storytelling Acumen:

    • Exceptional storytelling skills with a keen sense of pacing, timing, and rhythm tailored to the rapid consumption of short-form vertical video.
    • A strong eye for visual composition, color correction, and effective use of typography in video.

  • Platform Knowledge:

    • Excellent understanding of Instagram's algorithms, features, and best practices for maximizing engagement (Likes, Comments, Shares, Saves).
    • Familiarity with sound design, music licensing, and copyright considerations for social media.

  • Bonus Skills:

    • Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator) for creating static elements used in videos.
    • Ability to occasionally shoot raw footage using a DSLR/Mirrorless camera or high-quality smartphone.
    • Experience with other social media platforms like YouTube, TikTok, or LinkedIn.
