As a Transport Shift Manager at InPost UK in Hatfield, your role will be to oversee the day-to-day transport operations, ensuring efficient and safe movement of client parcels into sort centers and final destinations. You will lead a team of transport professionals, maintain performance against KPIs, and prioritize safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead the execution of planned transport schedules to meet agreed service levels. - Monitor site and national KPIs, taking corrective action as needed. - Manage transport costs within agreed budgets. - Ensure full compliance with Operating Licence obligations and legal standards. - Uphold high Health & Safety standards across all transport activities. - Support and develop the transport supervisory team, handling complex employee relations. - Drive team development through coaching, succession planning, and performance management. - Build and maintain effective supplier relationships. - Work closely with the on-site Sort Centre team for operational integration. - Collaborate on transport process improvements and daily operations. - Contribute to wider business projects and initiatives. - Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and engage effectively with trade unions. - Ensure effective use and maintenance of Yard Management Systems. - Lead transport activity changes during peak periods and special events. - Act as deputy for the Transport Manager when required. **Qualifications Required:** - Solid experience in transport operations and management. - Strong knowledge of transport management systems. - Up-to-date understanding of drivers' hours and working time regulations. - CPC Qualification is essential. - Proven experience in managing and developing people effectively.
