Position: MEP Design Engineer (HVAC / Electrical / FPS) Electrical Design Engineer (Industrial Project design) MEP BIM Modeler (HVAC / Electrical / FPS) Department: Engineering / BIM Experience: 5–15 Years Location: Chennai & Bangalore Employment Type: Full-Time Role Summary We are seeking skilled MEP Design Engineers and BIM Modellers who can work across HVAC, Electrical, and Fire Protection Systems (FPS) . The role involves preparing designs, calculations, 2D/3D models, and construction drawings based on project requirements and international standards. Key Responsibilities (Design Engineers) General (All MEP Streams) Prepare detailed designs, drawings, specifications, and BOQs . Work with project managers, architects, and site teams for coordination. Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, IS/IEC, NFPA , and project standards. HVAC Design Engineer Responsibilities Perform heat load calculations , ventilation design, and equipment sizing. Design ducting layouts , piping , chilled water systems , and VRF/VRV layouts . Select AHUs, FCUs, chillers, pumps, and ventilation systems. Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities Develop SLDs, schematics, cable schedules, lighting & power layouts . Conduct load calculations, short-circuit calculations, cable sizing, and earthing design . Design LV/MV distribution , ELV systems, and panel GA drawings. Fire Protection System (FPS) Design Engineer Responsibilities Design hydrant systems, sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems , and detection layouts. Perform hydraulic calculations , pump sizing, and equipment selection. Ensure compliance with NFPA standards . Key Responsibilities (BIM Modelers)General (All MEP Streams) Create LOD 200–400 BIM models using Revit MEP . Prepare shop drawings, sectional drawings, as-built drawings . Work with other trades (Architecture, Structure, MEP) for coordination. Resolve clashes using Navisworks and update models based on feedback. HVAC BIM Modeler Responsibilities Model ducting , piping , CHW lines , VRF systems , and HVAC equipment. Maintain correct elevations, parameters, and families. Electrical BIM Modeler Responsibilities Model cable trays, conduits, lighting, power, and ELV systems . Prepare panel locations, routing, and space planning in BIM. FPS BIM Modeler Responsibilities Model sprinklers, pipes, valves, pumps , and fire alarm devices. Ensure all elements follow NFPA spacing and clearance rules. Required Skills For Design Engineers Strong engineering fundamentals. Proficiency in software: HVAC: HAP, TRACE, AutoCAD Electrical: AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux FPS: AutoCAD, Fire hydraulic tools Knowledge of relevant codes & standards. Good communication & documentation skills. For BIM Modelers Mandatory proficiency in Revit MEP . Knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks , and BIM workflows. Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings. Experience with family creation is a plus. Qualifications Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields. Revit MEP / BIM certification is an added advantage.
