As a Network Reliability Engineer (NRE) based in Bangalore, you will be responsible for applying an engineering approach to measure and automate network reliability in alignment with the organization's service-level objectives, agreements, and goals. Your primary duties will involve promptly responding to network disruptions, identifying root causes, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the full restoration of network functionality. With over 5 years of experience in managing large-scale networks, you will be expected to utilize and enhance procedures and tools for developing and implementing network changes securely. Your role will also require you to devise solutions that enable support team members to address network failure conditions effectively. Collaboration with network vendor technical account teams and quality assurance teams will be essential for driving bug resolution and aiding in the qualification of new firmware and operating systems. You will be responsible for managing and executing firmware upgrades and configuration refreshes, in addition to possessing a strong knowledge of protocols and services such as MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, VxLAN, and EVPN. Proficiency in scripting or automation, particularly with Python, is preferred, though expertise in scripting or compiled languages is mandatory. Familiarity with networking protocols like TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and SSL, as well as experience with network monitoring and telemetry solutions, will be key requirements for this role. Previous experience in a large ISP or cloud provider environment, as well as a background in network operations, will be advantageous.
