The IKRAN team holds broad expertise across multiple engineering fields, including aeronautics, mechanical and electrical engineering, mechatronics, and electronics. Additionally, IKRAN owns proprietary intellectual property, boasting design patents and in-house software for flight and camera functionalities Key Responsibilities : 1. System Design & Architecture · Lead the conceptual and detailed design of avionics architectures for aircraft and UAV platforms, including power distribution, communication, navigation, flight control, and mission management systems. · Define system requirements, specifications, and interfaces , ensuring alignment with platform objectives and certification standards. · Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) , block diagrams, and system-level schematics. · Evaluate trade-offs in system architecture to optimize reliability, weight, cost, and performance . 2. Integration & Implementation · Oversee hardware and software integration of avionics subsystems including sensors, processors, data buses, and communication links. · Collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with flight control computers, power systems, and communication networks. · Validate system interfaces through bench testing, HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) setups. · Ensure compatibility with digital data buses (e.g., ARINC 429, ARINC 664, CAN, MIL-STD-1553, RS-422). 3. Testing & Validation · Develop and execute verification and validation plans , test procedures, and test reports for avionics components and integrated systems. · Support ground testing, flight testing, and qualification testing , ensuring systems meet functional and safety requirements. · Analyze and interpret test data , identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions. · Conduct EMI/EMC testing and environmental qualification (DO-160 or equivalent). 4. Certification & Compliance · Ensure avionics systems are developed in compliance with aerospace and defense standards , including DO-178C (software), DO-254 (hardware), DO-160 (environmental), ARP4754A (system), and ARP4761 (safety). · Prepare and review compliance documentation , including safety assessments, validation reports, and system safety analyses. · Interface with certification agencies (DGCA, CEMILAC, or equivalent) and ensure adherence to airworthiness requirements. · Support audits, technical reviews, and conformity inspections. 5. Technical Documentation & Reporting · Generate and maintain engineering documentation , drawings, wiring harness layouts, and design data packages. · Prepare system test reports, technical presentations, and progress updates for internal and external stakeholders. · Maintain configuration control and contribute to design reviews (PDR, CDR) and system readiness assessments. 6. Research & Innovation · Evaluate emerging technologies in avionics hardware, sensors, AI-based flight systems, and autonomous navigation . · Drive initiatives to modernize and optimize avionics systems , enhancing system performance and reducing cost or weight. · Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate new technologies such as GNSS-denied navigation, advanced autopilot algorithms, or AI-based fault detection . 7. Leadership & Mentorship · Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers in design, analysis, and testing activities. · Review team deliverables for accuracy, compliance, and quality assurance. · Lead cross-functional collaboration between design, production, software, and certification teams to meet project milestones. · Participate in supplier selection, evaluation, and technical review for avionics components and systems. 8. Support to Manufacturing & Field Operations · Collaborate with the production and maintenance teams to ensure manufacturability, maintainability, and ease of integration. · Provide technical support during installation, troubleshooting, and field service activities. · Review and approve engineering change requests (ECRs) and manage configuration control throughout product lifecycle. Qualifications & Experience: · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Avionics Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering. · 7+ years of relevant experience in avionics design and development within the aviation or aerospace industry. · Strong understanding of flight control systems, communication systems, navigation systems, and power distribution. · Proficiency in tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, Altium Designer, DOORS , or similar. · Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real-time operating systems (RTOS). · Familiarity with aircraft system integration , EMI/EMC standards, and environmental qualification testing (DO-160). · Hands-on experience with system testing, calibration, and troubleshooting at component and aircraft levels. · Knowledge of aerospace certification processes and documentation requirements. · Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Role specific skills: · Experience working with UAVs, eVTOLs, or advanced aerial platforms . · Exposure to ADAS / AI-based avionics systems or digital flight control systems. · Familiarity with model-based design (MBD) and system simulation. · Experience managing suppliers and reviewing third-party system compliance.
