Job Title : General Manager – Operations Department : Operations & Administration Industry : Fruit and Vegetable Processing Experience : Minimum 25 Years Location : Talwara , Punjab Job Role & Responsibilities : Strategic Operations Leadership Lead and oversee end-to-end operations of fruit and vegetable processing units, ensuring timely production, quality output, and regulatory compliance. Develop and implement SOPs, productivity benchmarks, and efficiency tools for manufacturing and supply chain. Administration & Cross-Functional Management Directly supervise HR, finance, procurement, logistics, and plant administration teams to ensure seamless coordination. Enforce company policies, employee discipline, safety, and statutory compliance across departments. New Product Development & Innovation Drive R&D efforts in collaboration with food technologists for new product formulations based on market trends, shelf-life stability, and cost optimization. Lead pilot trials, shelf-life studies, and commercial launch readiness of new products. Sales, Distribution & Growth Strategy Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to define national and regional sales strategies, pricing, promotional campaigns, and distribution network expansion. Contribute to branding efforts and development of B2B, retail, and export channels. Supply Chain & Raw Material Procurement Ensure smooth procurement of fruits, vegetables, and other inputs through farmer networks, mandis, and aggregators. Implement effective inventory control, cold chain management, and demand planning. Process Improvement & Cost Control Identify and implement cost-saving measures, lean manufacturing techniques, and waste minimization across the value chain. Ensure plant capacity optimization and timely CAPEX/OPEX planning. Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance Oversee QA/QC departments to ensure products meet national (FSSAI) and international (HACCP, ISO) food safety standards. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and labor laws. Team Leadership & Capability Building Lead, mentor, and build high-performing cross-functional teams with a culture of accountability, transparency, and innovation. Identify skill gaps and conduct internal training and leadership development programs. Technology Integration & Digital Transformation Champion automation, ERP integration (e.g., SAP, Tally Prime), and smart factory practices to improve traceability and operational efficiency. Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement Build strategic partnerships with government bodies, research institutions, certification agencies, and export councils. Represent the company in trade fairs, B2B meets, and investment forums. Business Development Executive – Agriculture Preferred Candidate: Male, B.Sc. Agriculture / B.Tech Agriculture Required: Own two-wheeler, willingness to travel frequently Job Responsibilities: Farmer Engagement & Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with farmers and farmer groups. Regularly visit farms and field locations to understand crop cycles, practices, and challenges. Educate farmers about the benefits of organic practices and sustainable farming models. Raw Material Management: Conduct crop testing and field assessments to identify suitable and quality raw materials. Determine quantity and quality of raw material required based on production needs. Assist in the planning and execution of raw material procurement from farm to factory. Agricultural Knowledge & Advisory: Provide technical assistance to farmers regarding seeds, soil health, crop rotation, pest management, and organic inputs. Stay updated with the latest agricultural techniques, schemes, and technologies beneficial to farmers and the organization. Site Visits & Field Travel: Frequent travel to multiple farm sites, procurement locations, and collection centers. Monitor farm-level implementation and ensure on-ground compliance with company standards. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of farmer interactions, procurement data, crop testing reports, and site visits. Prepare field reports and share insights with the internal team for planning and decision-making. Support in Organic Certification & Compliance: Assist in documentation and processes related to organic certification and audits. Ensure traceability and compliance with internal and external quality standards. Market Intelligence & Expansion: Identify new farming areas, crops, and farmer clusters for potential sourcing opportunities. Gather on-ground insights and feedback from farmers to improve offerings and product alignment. Candidate Profile: Qualification: B.Sc. Agriculture / B.Tech Agriculture Experience: 0–2 years (Freshers with strong field interest may also apply) Skills: Good communication, fieldwork readiness, documentation, problem-solving attitude.
