IBMS Draftsman (BMS / ELV)

This role is with a well-established MEP/EPC contracting organisation headquartered in Gurgaon, delivering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-protection and building-automation systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, data-centre and infrastructure projects. The search is being managed by Cusec Consulting, a management and talent-advisory firm partnering with leading real-estate, infrastructure and MEP/EPC organisations.

We are seeking an IBMS Draftsman (BMS / ELV) to prepare detailed shop drawings, system layouts, coordinated drawings, installation details and as-built drawings for Integrated Building Management Systems and ELV services, in close coordination with Design Engineers, BIM Coordinators and site teams.

Role overview

Reporting to the IBMS Design Engineer / BIM Coordinator, the IBMS Draftsman prepares IBMS/BMS and ELV shop drawings from approved IFC and design drawings — BMS/IBMS layouts, DDC controller and control panels, field devices, sensors and actuators, network and communication cabling, EMS, lighting-control and energy-monitoring systems — together with wiring diagrams, control schematics, panel layouts, I/O schedules, network architecture, equipment installation and mounting details, and builder’s-work drawings, with disciplined revision and document control.

Key responsibilities

1. Shop drawings. Prepare IBMS/BMS shop drawings from approved IFC and design drawings.

2. Layouts. Develop layouts for BMS, IBMS, DDC controller panels, control panels, field devices, sensors and actuators, network and communication cabling, EMS, lighting-control, energy-monitoring and HVAC-automation systems.

3. Diagrams & schedules. Prepare wiring diagrams, control schematics, panel layouts and I/O schedules; develop network architecture and communication layouts.

4. Installation details. Prepare equipment installation details and mounting drawings; prepare sleeve, opening and builder’s-work drawings.

5. Coordination. Coordinate IBMS drawings with HVAC, Electrical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, ELV, Civil, Structural and Architectural disciplines.

6. Document control. Update drawings based on consultant/client comments and maintain drawing revisions and document control.

Required qualifications and skills

• Diploma/ITI in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Draftsmanship.
• 2–6 years’ experience preparing IBMS/BMS and ELV shop drawings for MEP projects.
• AutoCAD certification is mandatory; Revit MEP certification is preferred.
• Ability to read IFC / design drawings and develop coordinated shop drawings.
• Wiring diagrams, control schematics, panel layouts, I/O schedules and network layouts.
• Discipline coordination and drawing revision / document control.

Preferred (good to have)

• Experience with data centres, hospitals, airports or semiconductor facilities.
• BIM coordination and clash-detection exposure.
• Familiarity with BACnet / Modbus / KNX field-device layouts.
