IBM IIDR Administrator

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and support IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) environments across

Development, QA, UAT, and Production.

-Monitor and maintain CDC (Change Data Capture) replication processes between

source and target systems.

-Troubleshoot replication latency, subscription failures, data inconsistencies, and

synchronization issues.

- Configure, manage, and support IIDR replication instances, subscriptions, and

replication mappings.

- Monitor Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, producers, and consumers to ensure

continuous data flow.

- Analyze and resolve Kafka performance bottlenecks, consumer lag, and message

delivery failures.

- Support DB2W and DB2U databases associated with replication environments.

- Perform database health monitoring, capacity planning, and storage utilization

analysis.

- Coordinate replication setup for new applications and data integration initiatives.

- Support production deployments, release validations, and change management

activities.

- Investigate replication-related incidents and drive issue resolution within SLA

timelines.

- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures for recurring

incidents.

- Analyze source-to-target data validation issues and coordinate corrective actions.

- Manage user access, security configurations, and compliance requirements across

replication platforms.

- Support vulnerability remediation, security patching, and audit activities.

- Collaborate with database administrators, application teams, and infrastructure

teams during planned maintenance activities.

- Monitor replication throughput and optimize configuration settings to improve

performance.

- Develop automation scripts to streamline operational and monitoring activities.

- Maintain operational runbooks, SOPs, technical documentation, and knowledge

repositories.

- Participate in on-call support and critical incident management activities.

- Support disaster recovery testing and high-availability validation exercises.

- Work closely with vendors and platform engineering teams during upgrades and

platform enhancements.

- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on replication

technologies.

Required Skill Set

- 4-8 years of hands-on experience in middleware, database, or data replication support

environments.

- Strong administration and support experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication

(IIDR).

- Good understanding of Change Data Capture (CDC) architecture and replication

concepts.

- Experience configuring and managing IIDR instances, subscriptions, and replication

mappings.

- Strong knowledge of IBM DB2 LUW database administration concepts.

- Hands-on exposure to DB2W and DB2U operational support activities.

- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting replication performance issues.

- Working knowledge of Apache Kafka architecture and administration.

- Experience supporting Kafka topics, brokers, partitions, producers, and consumers.

- Understanding of event-driven and streaming data architectures.

- Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting, validation, and performance analysis.

- Knowledge of database backup, recovery, and high-availability concepts.

- Experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.

- Experience using monitoring and alerting tools for platform health checks.

- Knowledge of ITSM processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release

Management.

- Experience working with ServiceNow or similar ticketing platforms.

- Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot complex platform issues.

- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in production support environments.

Additional Skills

- AWS, Azure, or GCP exposure.

- Python automation and scripting.

- Knowledge of enterprise messaging platforms.

- Git, CI/CD, and DevOps familiarity.

- Experience supporting data warehousing environments.

- IBM DB2, IIDR, or Kafka certifications preferred.

Education Qualification

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering,

or a related field.
