You should hold a BE / ME / B Tech / M Tech degree in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering and have at least 6 years of experience as an Instrumentation Reliability Engineer in industries like oil and gas, manufacturing, Polyester, Polymer, Petrochemical, or Refinery. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing the reliability & availability of DCS, PLC, Analyzers, and various other field instruments at the site. You will be required to improve reliability through Continuous Improvement techniques, upgrade projects, and implement advanced diagnostic and online condition monitoring techniques. Moreover, you will need to standardize best practices specific to site instrumentation equipment and incorporate significant Reliability shared lessons learnt into Engineering Technical Procedures. Troubleshooting support for major and critical failures/issues, participation in reliability & Integrity studies, analysis of obsolescence, and implementation of asset renewal plans are also part of your job accountabilities. You will be expected to participate in turnaround & shutdown activities, identify and implement energy conservation initiatives, and reduce production losses from defects/failures/breakdowns. Additionally, you will support Technical Due Diligence for major activities, minor projects, plant expansions, and modifications. Ensuring compliance with applicable HSEF procedures/practices and RIL Group Safety Standards, reviewing and maintaining interlocks and Shutdown systems, and conducting periodic audits to ensure adherence to Group Standards and Best Maintenance Practices are crucial aspects of this role. Your responsibilities will also involve managing Repair & Refurbishment activities, updating/knowledge of SAP related maintenance, and supporting new procurement activities. As an Instrumentation Reliability Engineer in the oil and gas, manufacturing industry, Polyester, Polymer, Petrochemical, Refinery industry, your role involves maintaining and maximizing the reliability & availability of DCS, PLC, Analysers, and various other field instruments at the site. Your key responsibilities will include: - Improving reliability through Continuous Improvement techniques, up-gradation, projects, and implementation of advanced diagnostic and online condition monitoring techniques. - Standardizing best practices specific to site instrumentation equipment and implementing Group guidelines and LFIs for reliability improvement. - Providing inputs to standardize best practices specific to site instrumentation equipment and incorporating significant Reliability shared lessons learned into Engineering Technical Procedures. - Troubleshooting and supporting major & critical failures/issues occurring at the site. - Participating in reliability & Integrity studies and analyzing obsolescence to implement asset renewal plans. - Reviewing and maintaining interlocks and Shutdown systems and maintaining the Instrumentation testing laboratory. - Participating in turnaround & shutdown activities and identifying/implementing energy conservation initiatives. - Supporting Technical Due Diligence for major activities, minor projects, plant expansions, and modifications. - Following and enforcing applicable HSEF procedures/practices and RIL Group Safety Standards. - Participating in and reviewing RCAs, liquidating RCA recommendations, and supporting REAM functions with reliability standards & defect elimination efforts. - Conducting periodic audits to identify gaps and ensure instrumentation system operation and maintenance adherence to Group Standards and Best Maintenance Practices. - Managing Repair & Refurbishment activities and interacting with various support services and vendor/equipment manufacturers for the Instrumentation discipline. - Managing learning & development of self & subordinates and ensuring HSEF compliance. - Supporting Knowledge management and Documentation management and providing inputs for plant maintenance cost budgeting and resource optimization. You should possess skills in deploying best maintenance practices, energy conservation measures, project management, strong troubleshooting capabilities, knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance, FMEA reliability tools, Instrumentation operation and maintenance, decision-making ability, analytical thinking, managing ambiguity, knowledge of SAP PM/MM modules, good communication skills, familiarity with relevant codes and standards, and teaming, leading, and developing people.
