Job Description: Electrician – Chemical Manufacturing Industry Job Title: Industrial Electrician Department: Maintenance / Engineering Location: Dubai – UAE Reporting to: Maintenance Manager / Engineering Supervisor Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary: The Industrial Electrician is responsible for performing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of all electrical systems, equipment, and machinery in the chemical manufacturing plant. This role ensures that all electrical work complies with safety regulations, plant procedures, and industry standards to maintain continuous, safe, and efficient plant operations. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on electrical systems, control panels, motors, and plant machinery. Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in electrical circuits, wiring, equipment, and fixtures using appropriate testing devices. Install, inspect, and maintain electrical wiring, outlets, lighting systems, and control systems. Maintain and calibrate instrumentation and control systems such as PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), relays, temperature & level sensors, and VFDs. Ensure all electrical installations comply with national and local electrical codes and internal safety standards. Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize equipment downtime and improve operational efficiency. Document all maintenance activities, fault diagnostics, and repairs in maintenance logs Participate in safety audits, hazard identification, and risk assessments related to electrical equipment. Support energy conservation initiatives and improvements to electrical efficiency. Respond to electrical emergencies and participate in on-call duty when required. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance in a chemical, petrochemical, or heavy process industry. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, and automation controls. Familiarity with hazardous area classifications (ATEX, IECEx), intrinsically safe equipment, and explosion-proof systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Knowledge of flow meters and batch controllers is desirable. Proficient in using electrical testing tools such as multimeters, insulation testers, clamp meters, etc. Good understanding of safety practices (Lockout/Tagout, arc flash protection, PPE use, etc.). Basic knowledge of instrumentation and process control systems is an advantage. Should be an active member of the maintenance team and assist in other maintenance works. Physical and Work Environment Requirements: Ability to work in hot, cold, or noisy environments with exposure to chemicals and fumes (with PPE). Physically fit to climb ladders, work at heights or in confined spaces when necessary. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency calls. Safety and Compliance: Strictly follow all safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, and environmental regulations. Actively participate in toolbox talks, safety drills, and training programs. Instrumentation Technician for Resin Manufacturing Position Overview The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all instrumentation and control systems in the Resin manufacturing facility. The role ensures that reactors, distillation systems, utilities, and process safety instruments function reliably to maintain product quality, plant efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities Instrumentation Maintenance & Calibration Install, calibrate, and maintain pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, level transmitters, pressure transmitters & other instruments used in resin production. Ensure accuracy of process instruments as per standard operating procedures (SOPs). Perform preventive maintenance on DCS, PLC, SCADA, and control loop systems. Process Monitoring & Troubleshooting Monitor instrumentation for reactors, distillation units, heat exchangers, and storage tanks. Diagnose and rectify faults in field instruments, control valves, alarms, and interlocks. Support operators during process upsets to maintain safe and efficient operations. Safety & Compliance · Maintain safety instrumented systems (SIS), emergency shutdown (ESD) systems, and alarms. · Ensure compliance with ISO, OSHA, and local environmental regulations. · Maintain records of calibration, test certificates, and inspection logs. 4 Project Support & Upgrades · Assist in commissioning new instrumentation and control systems. · Participate in modification, upgrade, and expansion projects. · Provide technical support for automation improvements and energy efficiency initiatives. 5 Documentation & Reporting · Maintain calibration reports, breakdown history, and maintenance schedules. · Support preparation of instrumentation SOPs, P&ID updates, and preventive maintenance checklists. Required Skills & Competencies · Strong knowledge of instrumentation used in chemical/resin process industries. · Hands-on experience with PLC/DCS/SCADA systems. · Understanding of P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control logic. · Familiarity with hazardous area equipment (ATEX/IECEx). · Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. · Knowledge of safety protocols for handling flammable and hazardous chemicals. Education & Experience · Diploma / ITI / Certification in Instrumentation Engineering or related field. · 3–5 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in chemical or resin manufacturing. · Exposure to alkyd resin or similar batch process industries preferred. · Certification in calibration & PLC is an advantage.
