Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Automation QA Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Puppeteer and a solid background in automation quality engineering. The ideal candidate should be capable of designing scalable automation solutions, validating complex web applications and microservices, and improving test coverage across integration, regression, functional, and API testing.
The candidate will collaborate with developers, product owners, and cross-functional QA teams in an Agile environment to ensure application quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Experience with Selenium, Cucumber, Jenkins, Postman, and accessibility testing is highly valuable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Puppeteer to validate web applications and browser-based workflows.
- Lead functional, regression, system integration, and end-to-end testing activities across web platforms and microservices.
- Develop and enhance automation frameworks to improve test coverage, maintainability, reliability, and execution efficiency.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios within Agile sprints.
- Implement Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices using Cucumber and apply Test Driven Development (TDD) principles where appropriate.
- Design and manage test data, configure test environments, and troubleshoot automation execution issues.
- Integrate automated test suites into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster release cycles.
- Perform API and integration testing using Postman and SoapUI, validating service responses, data integrity, and system interactions.
- Conduct accessibility testing using JAWS screen reader and validate application usability against applicable accessibility standards.
- Manage test execution, reporting, and defect tracking using Zephyr and associated test management tools.
- Work closely with engineering teams to identify root causes, resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes.
- Contribute to performance testing, security testing, and cloud-based testing initiatives as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 7–12 years of experience in software testing, automation quality engineering, or QA engineering.
- Strong practical experience with Puppeteer for browser automation and web application testing.
- Proficiency in Selenium and automated functional testing.
- Hands-on experience with Cucumber and BDD-based automation frameworks.
- Understanding of TDD principles and their application in software quality engineering.
- Experience with Jenkins and automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical knowledge of API testing using Postman and system integration testing using SoapUI.
- Experience in test data preparation, test environment configuration, defect management, and test reporting.
- Familiarity with Zephyr or similar test management tools.
- Experience with accessibility testing using JAWS or equivalent assistive technology.
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies, sprint planning, acceptance criteria, and continuous testing.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Exposure to cloud-based testing environments and distributed applications.
- Understanding of web application security testing.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized test environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer, Certified Agile Tester, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
