Job Title : Head of Engineering
Exp – 4 to 15 years Loc -Hyderabad Job Overview Main Purpose of the role:The Head of Engineering for Customer Platforms is accountable for the end to end engineering capability, delivery performance and technical health of Customer Platforms across digital, CRM, integration and contact centre technologies. The role ensures secure, scalable and resilient platforms that enable growth, improve customer experience and reduce cost to serve, while embedding strong engineering ownership within domain aligned teams. Key Accountabilities of the role:Define and own the engineering strategy for Customer Platforms aligned to business and product goals . Translate enterprise and retail strategy into actionable engineering roadmaps . Provide clear technical direction within agreed architectural guardrails . Balance investment across innovation, resilience, simplification and regulatory obligations . Own predictable and high quality delivery across digital, CRM and integration domains . Ensure strong engineering practices that enable frequent, safe releases . Monitor and improve delivery metrics, quality indicators and platform reliability . Remove systemic impediments that impact pace, quality or cost Key StakeholdersProduct Directors . Product Owners . SEMs . Engineers Problem Solving & Decision Making . Establish and enforce standards across coding, testing, security, resilience and observability . Embed DevOps, CI CD and automation practices across teams . Drive platform simplification and reduction of technical debt . Ensure non functional requirements are consistently owned and delivered Leadership . Lead Engineering Managers, Chapter Leads and senior engineers . Build high performing teams with strong succession and talent pipelines . Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement . Promote Centrica as a great place to practice software engineering Must Have Skills: Work Experience & Functional/Technical Skills required . 10 plus years' experience in software engineering . 5 plus years' experience leading multi team engineering functions . Proven delivery of large scale digital or customer platform transformation . Experience operating within complex enterprise or regulated environments Core Competencies & Technical Skills (AI and emerging technology): Designs, integrates and operates AI-enabled solutions within enterprise environments, including prompt-driven workflows, retrieval-augmented systems and AI agents. Applies structured evaluation, testing and monitoring practices to ensure AI outputs are reliable, secure and compliant with organisational guardrails. Prepares and manages data used in AI workflows and takes responsibility for the responsible lifecycle of AI features from experimentation through deployment and continuous improvement. Education and Certifications required to perform the role . Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience .
