Company Description The H T Parekh Foundation was established in 2012, to commemorate the birth centenary of Mr. H. T. Parekh, the visionary Founder and Chairman of erstwhile HDFC Limited (HDFC). HDFC has since merged with HDFC Bank. The Foundation commenced operations in 2014. In its first decade of giving, it operated as the philanthropic arm of HDFC, implementing its Corporate Social Responsibility mandate. Since the merger in mid-2023, the Foundation has transitioned to being an independent, domestic philanthropy. Our areas of support include ReVIVE (our flagship initiative on Urban Climate Change), Doorbeen (a Children’s library and literature initiative) and a legacy portfolio of exemplary partners across multiple thematic areas. Role Description The Senior Communication Associate will play a key role in strengthening the Foundation’s voice and visibility across it’s focus sectors and initiatives, notably in climate action (ReVIVE), children’s reading & literature (Doorbeen) and its multi-sector portfolio in India. The role is ideal for someone who can combine creativity with execution — from ideating outreach campaigns and developing content to managing digital channels and engaging partners. The role requires a passion for storytelling, social media fluency, empathy & an affable personality and an understanding of India’s development sector. Position Highlights Location – Fort, Mumbai (Mon to Fri – Work from Office) Reporting to – Senior Lead, Communications Requirement – Post-graduate with a degree in media communication, journalism, literature or similar qualifications. Experience – 5 to 7 years of work experience in communications & outreach with a philanthropic, CSR or equivalent organisation; environment and climate comms experience preferred Responsibilities Outreach & Ideation (25%) Support communication campaigns that highlight the organisation’s work and partnerships under different programmes, including ReVive, Doorben and other multi-sector grants. Collaborate with programme teams and partners to identify stories and opportunities for visibility. Contribute ideas for outreach, strategic partnerships, and events that expand the organisation’s influence and reach among key stakeholders. Digital Media & Analytics (25%) Organise and manage the organisation’s social media channels and digital presence. Create engaging multimedia content (posts, videos, infographics) and track performance metrics. Monitor trends and emerging tools in digital communication, sustainability, and philanthropy. Execution & Content Development (50%) Draft, edit, and design communication materials — including social media content, videos, newsletters, presentations and reports. Ensure quality, coherence, and brand alignment across all communication outputs. Support the roll-out of communication plans for specific programmes and initiatives. Develop and nurture media relations, including pitching story ideas and interviews and surfacing strategic narrative building opportunities across media platforms Ensure organisational channels, including website and social media handles are updated. Support collateral development efforts for annual reports, brand presentations, impact & case studies, etc Other miscellaneous needs such as engaging with networks, grantees, and media from time to time and keeping abreast of news and developments in India’s philanthropic and climate action landscape. Requirements and qualifications Post-graduate with a degree in media communication, journalism, literature or similar qualifications 5 to 7 years of work experience in communications & outreach with a philanthropic, CSR or equivalent organisation Strong writing, storytelling, and content creation skills across platforms. Hands-on experience managing social media and digital campaigns and analytics. Proficient in Canva, video/audio-editing and leveraging AI platforms. Strong bias for execution, processes and attention to detail. Problem-solving mindset and people-management skills. Self-starter, committed and a passion to work collaboratively. Environment and climate communications experience preferred.
