As a well-funded early-stage startup, Gruve offers a dynamic environment with strong customer and partner networks.About the Role:Our Professional Services team seeks a Cloud Engineer with a focus on Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (CNV) for professional services engagements. In this role, the candidate will be ensuring the success of our engagements by providing deployment, configuration, and operationalization of Red Hat Openshift infrastructure as well as various other cloud technologies such as On-Prem, Cloud, and Hybrid Environments.Successful applicants will bring deep experience with designing, deploying, and managing RedHat Openshift deployments in on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments, a strong collaborative spirit, experience successfully mentoring junior team members, superior problem solving skills, and a clear focus on supporting customer needs. Working knowledge of systems technologies, common enterprise software (Linux, Windows, Active Directory), Cloud Technologies (Kubernetes, VMware ESXi, AWS and Azure), and automation (Ansible).The ideal candidate has industry experience and is confident working in a cross-functional team environment that is global in reach.Job Responsibilities:1. Red Hat Openshift: Lead and execute Openshift deployments, end-to-end migration from VMware to Red Hat OpenShift, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and optimal post-migration performance for our Cloud Engineering customers.Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters, including the underlying virtualization platform and associated storage solutions.Design and implement strategies for deployment scaling, redundancy, high-availability, and disaster recovery.Resolve complex issues involving the infrastructure, including root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including regular system updates and patches.Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning to optimize the virtualization environment for operational efficiency.Provide technical support and training to IT staff and end-users when necessary. Requisite knowledge of operations will be required. Participate in an on-call rotation and provide off-hours support as needed.2. Automation: Develop and maintain automated testing systems to ensure uniform and reproducible deployments for common infrastructure elements. Automate routine tasks through scripting and the use of automation tools like Ansible, Jenkins, or similar.3. Documentation: The role can require significant documentation of the deployment and steps to maintain the system. The Cloud Engineer will also be responsible for all required documentation needed as required for customer hand-off.4. Customer Skills: This position is customer facing and effective communication and customer service is essential.Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer programming or quality assurance.5-8 years as an IT Engineer or DevOps Engineer with deep automation skills in the IT industry. Preferably in Professional Services.Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (or equivalent) preferred.Strong ownership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong proficiency in enterprise tools (Grafana, Splunk etc.), software (Windows, Linux, Databases, Active Directory, VMware ESXi (Mandated), Kubernetes) and techniques (Knowledge of Best Practices).Demonstratable Proficiency with Automation Packages (Ansible, Git)Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
