Human Resources Manager - India Location: Bengaluru, India Reports to: India Head Company : Growthsphereai About the Role This is a foundational and strategic role for a highly motivated and skilled HR professional. As the first HR Manager for our India office, you will be responsible for building and scaling the entire HR function from the ground up for our 21-person team of developers, finance analysts, designers, and program/product managers. You will be a key partner to the India Head and global leadership, ensuring that our people strategy aligns with our business goals and that we create a positive, engaging, and compliant workplace. Key Roles & Responsibilities Strategic HR and People Operations: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that are aligned with the overall business strategy. Serve as the single point of contact for all HR-related matters for the India office and act as a bridge between management and employees. Develop and maintain a robust company handbook and HR policies that are compliant with local Indian labor laws and company culture. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Manage the entire end-to-end recruitment process for the India team, from creating compelling job descriptions and sourcing talent to conducting interviews and making hiring decisions. Design and execute a world-class onboarding process to ensure new hires are effectively integrated. Employee Relations & Engagement: Foster a positive work environment and address employee grievances and concerns with empathy and discretion. Develop and lead employee engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and internal communications to strengthen company culture and morale. Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on matters of performance, career growth, and conflict resolution. Performance Management: Oversee and manage the performance appraisal system, providing guidance to managers and employees on goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement plans. Compliance & Administration: Ensure full compliance with all Indian labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies, acting as the primary point of contact for any legal or compliance-related matters. Manage all administrative HR functions, including payroll coordination, employee data management, and record-keeping. Maintain an HR Information System (HRIS) to ensure all employee data is accurate, secure, and easily accessible. Requirements Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a solo or lead HR role in a small-to-mid-sized company or startup. Experience in the technology sector is highly preferred. Education: A Bachelor's/MBA degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Skills: In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws, statutory compliances, and HR best practices. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Proficiency in HR software and MS Office Suite. Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
